Dr. Margaret Lobitz announced to her family at the early age of four that she was going be a "pet doctor" when she grew up. That early prediction became a reality when she graduated from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 1998. For the past 20 years, Dr. Lobitz has split her time between general practice and emergency medicine, but she is very happy to be exclusively back in general practice. Her strong interests include toxicological emergencies, soft tissue surgeries and dentistry.
A native of the Chicagoland area, Dr. Lobitz is fortunate that her four spoiled cats allow her to live in their home and to spend her free time relaxing. She was trained many years ago to act as “the advocate for the pet,” and that is the principle by which she practices.
