Hi! I’m Kathleen; I’m your pet’s Certified Veterinary Technician at Caton Crossing. I’ve been working here since September 2011, but have been working in the veterinary field since 2003. I graduated from Joliet Junior College’s Veterinary Technician Program with High Honors in 2011. In the hospital, my FAVORITE area is working with the microscope, all the disgusting parasites that normally make people cringe, and educating my clients on how to best care for their furry friends. My life outside of the hospital includes spending time with my three girls Abby, Kaitlyn, & Charlotte and relaxing in my hammock. I have been happily married to my husband Mike since 2005 and together we are the proud parents of our furry friends, Josh, a Pembrooke Welsh Corgi, Jake, a Pembrooke Welsh Corgi, Billie, a Cairn Terrier Mix, & Murphy, a Lab Mix.
When your pet needs care, we’re here to help. Caton Crossing Animal Hospital is staffed by a team of nurturing professionals, committed to the health and wellness of animals in Plainfield. We are dedicated providers of wellness care, preventative medicine, internal medicine, and more.
Head Certified Veterinary Technicians
I'm Sara D, one of your Certified Veterinary Technicians . I graduated from the Joliet Junior College Veterinary Technician Program in 2009. I've known Veterinary Medicine was the right career path for me since I was a little girl. My favorite area of the veterinary field is caring for our sick, injured, and hospitalized patients. I have been working at Caton Crossing since June of 2013. I love "my second home" because the entire staff is fun, friendly, and we have a family bond. My crazy furry household contains a beagle named Bud who is enough trouble to keep me busy. On the off chance you were to catch me out of work, you'd find me, bowling, hiking, cooking, or relaxing at home with my main man, Bud.
Hi I'm Barb. I'm a Veterinary Technician and Veterinary Assistant at Caton Crossing Animal Hospital since 2007, however I have been in the veterinary field since 1996. I enjoy my job immensely, and I work with amazing people! I am blissfully married to my husband Chris, and we have three awesome children named Allysum, Madeline, and Sean who knows how to keep me busy with sports and activities. Outside of work you'll find me rooting for my favorite teams, the Cubs and Blackhawks, going on walks, and doing yoga. My four legged crew at home includes a Beagle named "Caylee" and a Terrier Mix named "Rizzo." In March of 2012 I was awarded with the NVA Excellence Award for going above and beyond in Teamwork, Service Excellence, Integrity, Innovation, & Goal Orientation.

Hello! My name is Kirsten, and I am one of the Certified Veterinary Technicians working at Caton Crossing Animal Hospital. I began working at a veterinary clinic in 2007; I have been working at Caton Crossing since August 2014 and graduated from Joliet Junior College with a degree in Veterinary Technology in 2016. I have a passion for learning, with special interests in animal behavior, rehabilitation, and pain management with anesthesiology. It is a joy to be able to work in a place with such caring people, who enjoy learning as much as I do. In December 2014, I became certified in K-Laser therapy, along with other CVTs at Caton Crossing. Outside of work, most of my time is spent enjoying time with my son (Cooper), training my three Standard Poodle mixes (Pippin, Phoebe, and Branson), hiking, baking, providing transport services for animal rescue organizations, playing hockey in a women’s league, and organic gardening. I look forwards to meeting you, and getting to know your furry loved ones!
My name is Suz and I have been a veterinary technician at Caton Crossing since June 2008, although I have been a technician since 2000. My favorite areas of veterinary medicine include surgery, both general and orthopedic along with Emergency and Critical Care. I have been happily married to an amazing man since 2003 and we have two beautiful daughters, Rylee and Piper. My youngest daughter was born in November 2011 with a complex heart defect and requires much of my time these days, so I don't get to work as often as I used to. My family and I share our home with an English Mastiff- Gus, Cane Corso- Daphne, & Pit Bull – Brody, and 3 sweet boy kitties – Foust, Jackson, and Logan.
Hello my name is Tiffany. I have been a Veterinary Assistant at Caton Crossing Animal Hospital since August 2011. I enjoy pretty much every aspect at the hospital but I really love having casual conversations and laughing with our clients and staff. My in home zoo contains my 4 dogs - Bailey’s, Chance, Archer, & Pongo, a Bearded Dragon- Joey and a snake- Maeve. As much as I love working at the hospital my number one job is taking care of my children, Brendan and Emma. After 4 years in the military my husband Alec has finally come home for good and we are finally able to enjoy life as “newly-weds”. I love to go horseback riding, playing with my kids, and swimming.
My name is Ammie. I have been working in the veterinary field since 1997 but have been employed at Caton Crossing Animal Hospital since March 2001. I am one of the friendly-smiling faces you and your pet sees as soon as you walk in to our hospital. I have 3 feline friends- Emma, Gidget, & Oscar and a Jack Russell mix- Dottie. My favorite canine breed is a Beagle, I just love the stereotypical Beagle Bark. When I am not in the hospital you can find me gardening, bird watching in my backyard, baking, & reading. My husband Brian and I have been happily married since 1996. As of 2016, my husband and I agreed to become a retirement home for Caton Crossing’s elderly hospital kitties , Laverne & Shirley. Laverne and Shirley have been apart of our practice since we opened in 1999 and have been our official greeters ever since. Sadly, we lost Shirley in February 2017, but we love having Laverne in our family and giving her all the attention she deserves.
Hello, my name is Caitlyn and I have been working in the veterinary field since August of 2015 at Caton Crossing Animal Hospital. I am one of the privileged individuals who keeps your furry children’s living quarters clean and comfortable. I am also cross-trained to assist and greet you at the front desk during your visit. Without a doubt, my favorite aspect in our hospital would be the quality one-on-one time with our hospital cats, Grace and Trooper. I also enjoy the quirkiness of our clinic staff and the dynamic of our hospital. Outside of the clinic life you would most likely find me at home with my cat, Coco, or taking in the scenery in a nature preserve walking my dog, Cooper, with friends and family. I have a passion for singing and am involved in the choir at my local church. Even with how much I love my Caton Family, I plan to one day work with a zoo or wildlife rescue facility, in hopes to one day work closer with otters.
Hi! I’m Karen; I am one of your veterinary assistants and have been working in the veterinary field since 1998 but have been at Caton Crossing Animal Hospital since 2000. There are too many things I enjoy at the hospital to name just one as a favorite. I find that working in the hospital, I will never be bored, there are always new things to learn and wonderful people and pets to meet. My husband Ron and I have been together since 1977 and together we share two beautiful daughters and have six amazing grandchildren who know how to keep us grandparents on our toes. I have one kitty, Sophie, a domestic shorthair cat. On my days off, I’m often found spending time with my grandchildren, enjoying the outdoors, and take long walks in the park, literally.

Hi my name is Cindy and I am your pet’s professional stylist. I have been grooming since 1994 and joined the team at Caton Crossing in 2012. I thoroughly enjoy catering to your pet’s every need and giving them a positive spa experience. I strive to make every visit comfortable and their own home away from home. I attended Great Lakes Academy of Dog Grooming and graduated in 1995, specializing in poodle cuts and “special-needs” patients. I have previously worked in stand alone salons and also pet-store salons but have found that grooming in a veterinary office has been extremely helpful for my clients since we are an all in one facility. This allows your pet to be checked by a medical professional and groomed the same day if needed. When I am not making your pet’s look their best, you would catch me at home with my 2-legged children, Billy & Oliver, and crafting. I enjoy wood-working, stenciling, & card making. My 4 legged children consist of my Standard Poodle – Bacardi & 3 Chihuahuas – Gracie, Lacie & Gemma. I look forward to learning more about you and working with your pets and catering to all their grooming needs.
