The Team at Plainfield animal hospitalHi! I’m Kathleen; I’m your pet’s Certified Veterinary Technician at Caton Crossing. I’ve been working here since September 2011, but have been working in the veterinary field since 2003. I graduated from Joliet Junior College’s Veterinary Technician Program with High Honors in 2011. In the hospital, my FAVORITE area is working with the microscope, all the disgusting parasites that normally make people cringe, and educating my clients on how to best care for their furry friends. My life outside of the hospital includes spending time with my three girls Abby, Kaitlyn, & Charlotte and relaxing in my hammock. I have been happily married to my husband Mike since 2005 and together we are the proud parents of our furry friends, Josh, a Pembrooke Welsh Corgi, Jake, a Pembrooke Welsh Corgi, Billie, a Cairn Terrier Mix, & Murphy, a Lab Mix.

I love working at Caton Crossing because I love seeing puppies grow to adults, and I am able to learn something new everyday. I started out my career I the fire service and than returned to school to head down the career path of a Veterinary Technician. I want our clients to know how much I appreciate their trust in us and how much I love their animals. When I am not at work I hang out with my 4 Dobermans and 2 cats, and my husband of course!

Hello! My name is Kirsten, and I am one of the Certified Veterinary Technicians working at Caton Crossing Animal Hospital. I began working at a veterinary clinic in 2007; I have been working at Caton Crossing since August 2014 and graduated from Joliet Junior College with a degree in Veterinary Technology in 2016. I have a passion for learning, with special interests in animal behavior, rehabilitation, and pain management with anesthesiology. It is a joy to be able to work in a place with such caring people, who enjoy learning as much as I do. In December 2014, I became certified in K-Laser therapy, along with other CVTs at Caton Crossing. I also teach Puppy and Kitten Socialization classes at Caton Crossing. Outside of work, most of my time is spent enjoying time with our son Cooper, training our three Standard Poodle mixes Pippin, Phoebe, and Branson, our cat, Gracie, hiking, baking, providing transport services for animal rescue organizations, playing hockey in a women’s league, and organic gardening. I look forwards to meeting you, and getting to know your furry loved ones!

Veterinary Assistants

I have always loved animals, dogs in particular. I started in the veterinary world at a young age as a receptionist and I was hooked! Now daily I strive to learn as much as possible and be an advocate for the animals.
I love working at Caton Crossing because I really enjoy the interaction with all of our furry patients. I really enjoy doing dental procedures and dental radiographs. When I am not at work I am spending time with my 3 children and my husband of 19 years! We are usually spending time at the baseball diamond or doing other various outdoor activities. I have 2 dogs a beagles and a terrier mix plus 2 guinea pigs. I am a big Chicago sports fan and cheer on the Cubs, Hawks and Bears!

CassieAs soon as I was exposed to veterinary medicine, I fell in love with it! I love the science behind the medicine and becoming a vet is the perfect direction for my career. Every day at Caton Crossing there are so many opportunities to learn. My favorite part of each day is being hands on with patients. When I’m not working with pets you can find me at school or at home with my family doing homework or watching basketball. Many don’t know this about me…I dream that one day I will work with African wildlife.

My passion has always been animals which makes the veterinary field a perfect fit for me. I enjoy working with my teammates at Caton Crossing and the opportunity we have taking care of our clients and their pets. Just like our clients’, my pets are my world! I have three dogs: Amp – a 7-year old Boxer, Jackson – a 4-year old Lab/Pit mix, and Dija a 3-year old German Shepherd. I’ve got room for more and waiting for that Rotti pup to come my way!

The Team at Plainfield animal hospitalMy name is Ammie. I have been working in the veterinary field since 1997 but have been employed at Caton Crossing Animal Hospital since March 2001. I am one of the friendly-smiling faces you and your pet sees as soon as you walk in to our hospital. I have 3 feline friends- Emma, Gidget, & Oscar and a Jack Russell mix- Dottie. My favorite canine breed is a Beagle, I just love the stereotypical Beagle Bark. When I am not in the hospital you can find me gardening, bird watching in my backyard, baking, & reading. My husband Brian and I have been happily married since 1996. As of 2016, my husband and I agreed to become a retirement home for Caton Crossing’s elderly hospital kitties , Laverne & Shirley. Laverne and Shirley have been apart of our practice since we opened in 1999 and have been our official greeters ever since. Sadly, we lost Shirley in February 2017, but we love having Laverne in our family and giving her all the attention she deserves.

The Team at Plainfield animal hospitalHello, my name is Caitlyn and I have been working in the veterinary field since August of 2015 at Caton Crossing Animal Hospital. I am one of the privileged individuals who keeps your furry children’s living quarters clean and comfortable. I am also cross-trained to assist and greet you at the front desk during your visit. Without a doubt, my favorite aspect in our hospital would be the quality one-on-one time with our hospital cats, Grace and Trooper. I also enjoy the quirkiness of our clinic staff and the dynamic of our hospital. Outside of the clinic life you would most likely find me at home with my cat, Coco, or taking in the scenery in a nature preserve walking my dog, Cooper, with friends and family. I have a passion for singing and am involved in the choir at my local church. Even with how much I love my Caton Family, I plan to one day work with a zoo or wildlife rescue facility, in hopes to one day work closer with otters.

All of my life I’ve been around animals – from small to large – from cats to horses and I’ve always wanted to make an impact on their lives. I’m passionate about helping in any way I can and I enjoy the never-ending opportunity to learn here at Caton Crossing. When I’m not here you’ll find me teaching horseback riding, at college, at the gym or spending time with my awesome dog.

I’ve found that in veterinary medicine, there’s never a dull moment! There is always something new for me to learn and share. Since 2002 I’ve enjoyed my work at Caton Crossing and have the honor to interact with all of our clients and their pets. It’s a joy to witness everyone on staff care for our patients as if they were their own. The entire team here is amazing! When I’m not here, I enjoy spending time with my husband, two children, two cats and our dog.

Kennel Assistants

The Team at Plainfield animal hospitalFor as long as I can remember I’ve wanted to work with animals and have been at Caton Crossing since I was a senior in high school. My job is very rewarding and, no matter how small the task, when I make a pet happy it makes my day seem a bit better. Since I plan to continue with a career in veterinary medicine, the easy-going atmosphere here, where I can learn something new every day, makes coming to work enjoyable and helps me toward that goal. If I’m not here taking care of our patients, you’ll find me creating through my art (drawing) and baking sweets. When the weather cooperates you may also find me walking our two-year old, energetic Saint Bernard. Fun facts: I’m the youngest of four and I’m learning how to speak Japanese! I plan to travel to other countries and Japan intrigues me with its culture and history.

The Team at Plainfield animal hospitalI joined the Caton Crossing family as a Kennel associate because I would like to continue to work in the field in the future. I love animals and always have and the field in general intrigues me. I really enjoy the people I work with because they are so kind and welcoming. In the future I hope to travel and see different parts of the world. I also really enjoy various types of music, I listen to it any chance that I can get.
